Conor Mcgregor Says He’d “Dismantle” Floyd Mayweather | Hip-Hop Wired
The UFC was forced to make a last-minute pivot to two-time title challenger Chad Mendes, who will now face McGregor for an interim title while Aldo heals. And that will be that. Some have blasted the featherweight champ for doing so, and have sided with the narrative that McGregor has cultivated, that Aldo was medically cleared to fight, and therefore, he should have. That’s what I see happen. He was beaten mentally before he was beaten physically.
Saul Almeida expects Aldo to be back, with a vengeance. The champion recently argued, however, that most UFC champs don’t fight more than twice a year, and Aldo only failed to do that in 2012 (in terms of his UFC reign). The last one was memorable because it was the first time that anyone knocked Aldo to the floor and it also planted the roots and animosity between McGregor and Mendes. This is the fight game, where somebody could get seriously injured, and that’s what I’m looking to do when I get in there against Conor McGregor.
As soon as Aldo is 100 percent healed from the rib injury, he will have the opportunity to unify the belts and reclaim sole ownership of the title, MMA Mania noted.
On if he’d fight Mayweather: “If you’re asking would I like to fight Floyd, I mean, who would not like to dance around the ring for $180 million?” “He felt a little bit right away and then he continued to do training for the next couple minutes. Chad is always training, dreaming about this”.
Mendes spends his day in a much more serious way, testing out his lung capacity in the pool, before doing some video analysis on McGregor with his entourage.
On the heels of the richest pay-per-view in history with Manny Pacquiao in May, McGregor said a fight with Mayweather could generate another huge number, especially considering the kind of crossover appeal the two athletes would receive from boxing and MMA.
