Conor McGregor: UFC star wants dual-weight titles
The instant rematch with Aldo is always there, and of course a featherweight title bout with Frankie Edgar is the logical choice at 145 pounds, but McGregor could also move up to 155 pounds to take on the victor of this Saturday’s UFC on FOX 17 main event between champ Rafael dos Anjos and Donald Cerrone. “I feel for Aldo, he was a great champion”. The Brazilian fighter had defended his belt seven times in the Octagon before UFC 194. In fact, he claims it was a technical mistake made by Aldo.
Jose Aldo called for a rematch after the fight and now his coach, and head coach of Nova Uniao, Andre Pederneiras is calling for one.
The Irishman won the fight after just 13 seconds with a stunning knockout punch to put the Brazilian on the deck.
“It still is too hard to digest”, Aldo told Combate on Sunday.
As soon as both men were separated by referee John McCarthy and went to their respective sides of the cage seconds before the fight, Aldo was already adamant in being the aggressor. He had not lost a fight in 10 years.
However, there might be a more tempting offer for McGregor, a first title defence back at home at either Croke Park or the Aviva Stadium. McGregor threw a left, which Aldo followed with a lead right hand and left hook.
Aldo, like so many of us, are still trying to figure out exactly what caused one of the best fighters of all-time to lose in a blink of an eye.
‘If Rousey is granted an immediate rematch I would expect the same treatment for Aldo, ‘ Jones wrote on Twitter.
“Unfortunately for me and a whole packed plane we are all going to be affected by a few drunk fools”, Coyne said on Friday.
And it only took him 13 seconds to land the coveted spot. “Not only me, but my career speaks for itself”. “This is trending as the highest pay-per-view of all time for the UFC”, he added. “It’s a sport, we have to accept. Not only from wins you live your life. You give me a good camp, ample time to prepare for him and I’m the guy to beat McGregor”.
Boom, he’s back. We’ll see what Conor decides to do, if he decides to make the weight, not make the weight, whatever.
