Converse Are Creating Shoes With Guitar Pedals Built In To Them
The innovative design features a completely wireless sensory system that allows users to boost and add wah-wah effect to any synched guitar.
There are only 23 pairs available, and the iconic shoe company hasn’t released any details yet on how you can get your mitts on them – we’ll let you know as soon as we find out any more info.
Plans for the shoe began in 2013, when a prototype was designed by Critical Mass, but electronics company Cute Circuit has now completed the guitar pedal-sporting sneakers for retail.
If you don’t already own the essential wah-wah pedal, then you might be in luck with the “Chuck Taylor All Wah”. There’s a built-in battery that can be recharged wirelessly and the wah-packing sneaker can be plugged into an amp or connected to an iPhone or Mac.
How this shoe works is that there are flexible sensors built into the sole of the shoe that will detect movements similar to a Wah pedal. Watch an old video of the prototype, which featured a few more cables, below.
There’s no release date yet but since this video was made they have been able to switch to bluetooth so the player doesn’t trip over the cords when they’re rocking out.
