Cops investigating murder of missing British landlord arrest his former lodger
A man is due to appear in court in Galway this morning after he was arrested in connection with a homicide investigation in the UK.
While there has been no trace of Mr Warburton since 31 July, police have previously said they were treating the case as murder.
David Ellis, whose has had an address at Vivian Road, Sketty, Swansea, Wales, was arrested in Galway city centre on Friday evening.
South Wales Police confirmed that Ellis had been found and was in custody. “We are liaising with the Garda in relation to his extradition back to the United Kingdom “.
His M-reg Peugeot was spotted in north Wales before returning to Swansea.
He had been sighted boarding a ferry from Birkenhead to Belfast on August 5th – police believed he may have taken a train or bus from there.
Police were unable to give further details about Mr Ellis’ arrest.
