Coronation Street Live episode’s rehearsals kick off on the cobbles
It has been announced that the hour-long Corrie episode to celebrate 60 years of ITV will air at 7.30pm on Wednesday September 23, and will include the climax to several dramatic storylines.
Beneath that, there’s a 60-second rundown of next week’s episodes of Coronation Street.
The live episode will focus on the Platt’s desperate attempts to thwart Callum and his plan to extort £20,000 from them.
Of that, Sean Ward, who of course plays the role of Callum, teased, “Something will change in the live episode that will have an effect on everyone for the next few months”.
Roy Cropper’s 60th birthday party (appropriate), and Lloyd and Andrea’s leaving party will also be played out live, with Tim Metcalfe set to discover that his fianceé, Sally Webster, has snogged her ex-hubby Kevin.
Now that rehearsals have kicked off at the studios in Salford, Manchester, the cast will be working tirelessly for the next two weeks to make sure that everything goes as smoothly as possible on the big day.
After the episode, Stephen Mulhern will interview the cast as they come off air and reveal behind-the-scenes secrets in a special show airing on ITV2 at 10pm.
The gripping trailer symbolises the fact that the Platts have reached the end of the road with dastardly Callum and will have to face what he has in store for them.
