Correia Doesn’t Regret Trash Talk
Ronda Rousey (R) of U.S celebrates after defeating Bethe Correia of Brazil during their Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) match, a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) competition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil August 1, 2015. At the post event press conference on Saturday, she said that she had meant all of her other comments.
What many expected to be Rousey’s toughest challenge turned into a clinic lasting slightly longer than most commercials.
Paramount Pictures said Monday that it has acquired the rights to Rousey’s autobiography, “My Fight/Your Fight”, with plans for Rousey to play herself in the adaptation. It was my point of view as well as what I believed in. “I planned to instead of trying to force a clinch, overwhelm her (by) striking first so that she would want to clinch first, and that’s exactly what happened”. But I think that everything I said was something I thought of. But of course I have a lot of lessons that I learned.
Ronda Rousey vs. Bethe Correia – Rousey def. Correia by KO (punch) at 0:34 of Round One Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Mauricio Rua – Rua def. Nogueira by unanimous decision (29-28 x3) Fernando Bruno vs. Glaico Franca – Franca def. Bruno by submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:46 of Round Three Dileno Lopes vs. Reginaldo Vieira – Vieira def. Lopes by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27 x2) Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. “I hope this is the last time”. “I consider the matter settled”.
“Rousey dedicated the victory to her nicknamesake, wrestler “Rowdy” Roddy Piper”, who passed away on Friday.
“They can watch as much footage as they like, but they don’t know what it’s like to be in there with me”, she added.
Correia said that she didn’t have regrets after losing to “Rowdy”. She was screaming in my face at weigh-ins.
Ronda also wanted to avenge Correia’s victories over her Four Horsewomen comrades.
Rousey was especially mad after Correia said she hoped Rousey doesn’t “commit suicide” after she loses her title – a really, really stupid thing to say to somebody who lost their father to suicide at a young age.
