Courtney Rivera will be ‘a nervous wreck’ during Super Bowl

Sunday’s Super Bowl showdown with the Denver Broncos is a huge blessing for Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman as he eyes the prospect of trying to shut down his childhood idol, Peyton Manning.

To Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders joining him on his dais to reignite conversation about Norman’s infamous spat with New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.in a game last month, which led to Beckham being suspended the next week.

Sanders, an analyst for NFL Network, later made his way to Norman’s stage. Sanders then complimented both Norman and Beckham on how they both handled the situation after the game had ended.

Part of the discussion immediately after the game concerned why the Giants never removed the out of control Beckham from the game in an effort to calm him down.

According to Sanders, he tried to call Norman a short time after the Panthers/Giants game with Beckham Jr. on the phone.

“I think they first play of the game they were going at each others head”, Thomas said of the clash. “I didn’t get myself back right until a couple days after the fact. I really didn’t agree with what you had going on with Odell and that whole situation”. “You said something like if he was your son you would have taken props or something to go out and do your thing….”

“It definitely could have been a different story”, Norman said.

“I take my hat off to that guy”. “I don’t know about that”. It was like, OK, but this is a man running 10 yards at full speed trying to take me out or something. In Norman’s estimation, the worst thing an opponent (possibly Beckham?) can do is go about trash talking half-heartedly.

Norman said he doesn’t push unless he has to, but tries to keep it “as close as possible to the confines of the rules”. We’re not there picking daisies. “Please come from that mold that you can play that way and not get out of your game. Anything you want to say to me, so we can get this over with?” That told me that I have to be aware at all times of this guy’s arm strength.
