Cowboys and Jayhawks: Oklahoma State welcomes Kansas for homecoming 2015
Entering this one No. 14 Oklahoma State (6-0) is unbeaten while Kansas (0-6) has been unable to find the win column.
Is there a better Big 12 opponent to schedule for this game than the winless Jayhawks?
Oklahoma State’s offense, which is tied for 25th in the nation with an average of 463 yards per game, against Kansas’ defense, which has surrendered 559.8 yards per contest, ranking 124th.
Fans got a brief glimpse of hope last week when the Jayhawks had a chance to knock off Texas Tech before ultimately losing 30-20. But I do want to reiterate that…this one incident can not take away from Oklahoma State University. Kansas (0-7, 0-4) could very well be the worst Big 12 team to ever take the field, and the Cowboys merely took care of business on a very hard day.
346.2: Walsh’s passer rating after going 5 of 5 for 68 yards and two touchdowns. Gundy says it was by no means easy, but a tragedy like that could not break the spirit of Oklahoma State on homecoming weekend.
After a few discussion about whether to play the game or not, the decision was made the game would go on.
The Jayhawks’ offense is in shambles as it has gone through three different quarterbacks this season in Montell Cozart, Deondre Ford and Ryan Willis. The latter has started for the past two games and has thrown for 588 yards, three touchdowns and two picks.
Oklahoma State has won 10 of the last 11 meetings between the schools. Kansas has lost nine in a row and is 0-6 for the first time since 1988 and just the third time in program history.
