Cowboys at Redskins Week 13 Preview

During an interview with WTEM-AM in Washington DC on Monday, Jean Francois explained what his message was to his teammates on Saturday, and that message was that the Redskins can be good this year – good enough to “win it all”.

The Cowboys suffered a huge blow when quarterback Tony Romo was lost for the season with another broken collarbone injury. Surgery is not expected. They, of course, also believed he would stay in one piece for a change. “I think he’s a great punt returner, historically”, Redskins coach Jay Gruden said.

Let’s check out a few of the notable fantasy football players on both sides here and see what we can be expecting from our rosters in Week 13.

I’m proud of the team to be in this position, how hard they worked, how much they’ve overcome from a week-to-week basis. But overall, we have a lot of work to do, obviously.

“We did a little hurry-up”, Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins said. He did throw nine incompletions, including a unsafe first-quarter throw he was lucky wasn’t returned for a defensive touchdown. Morris leads with 482 yards, Matt Jones has 351 yards rushing and Chris Thompson 191.

None of this is meant to say that you as a fan should quit rooting for the Cowboys to win every game they play.

-RUN DEFENSE: A. Grade this one on a curve simply because the Giants don’t run the ball.

Cousins has just two weeks where he’s thrown more than one passing touchdown, but the good news is that he hasn’t come up empty yet this year.

Jordan Reed, TE, Washington Redskins: Reed had a slow (and penalty-filled) start against the Giants, but came away with a nice line. The longest run allowed all day was 8 yards. Thompson’s nagging back injury is feeling better.

CB Quinton Dunbar (dislocated left index finger) had the bone pop through the skin in Sunday’s game against the New York Giants after diving to break up a pass. He saw a hand specialist on Monday, but will not need surgery. Punter Tress Way averaged 42.3 net yardage and dropped three punts inside the 20.

A Dustin Hopkins 33-yard field goal made it 20-0 with 11:36 left.

“Kirk played well”, Gruden said. “Gotta give credit to them and DeSean”.
