Cowboys banner flies over Eagles practice
The plane funded by Eagles fans was to float a banner reading “WE’VE GOT DEMARCO” through the sky above Cowboys training camp, according to ESPN.
There were rumors swirling on Sunday that a plane that crashed was supposed to be flying an Eagles banner over Dallas’ camp but those proved to be false.
Lane Johnson called the stunt a waste of money and added that Hardy was a hot-head.
The Eagles fan who hired a plane to fly a banner over Dallas Cowboys training camp on Sunday released a statement via his Twitter account offering condolences to the pilot who lost his life in a crash, initially reported to to be towing the trash-talking banner. “I think he’s a hothead and gets carried away with himself”. He donated $300 to the fund.
To recap: the pilot hired by the Eagles fan is OK but he couldn’t fly the banner over Cowboys practice due to the other pilot who was killed in the crash. “#SACKSCOMIN” flew over Eagles practice, which was reportedly preemptive retaliation after Cowboys fans heard of Philadelphia’s own banner plans. “He’s going to have his hands full with 71, I promise you that”.
The numeric reference was to Eagles left tackle Jason Peters, a Pro Bowler and perhaps the top player at his position.
“Oh, yeah, that was interesting”, Eagles outside linebacker Connor Barwin said. “We’re not concerned about them, but it seems like they’re concerned about us”. There won’t be a chance to react to Hardy’s prank, however. Hardy is suspended for the first four games of the season as a result of a domestic violence incident.
Hardy will be eligible to play when the Eagles travel to Dallas on November 8 for a Sunday night game against the Cowboys.
But the fans’ plane had been scheduled to leave the small airport later that afternoon, Emanuele wrote on Twitter.
