Cowboys Camp: McFadden hamstring injury opens door for Joseph Randle
The Dallas Cowboys have arrived in Ventura County, coming to Oxnard to take advantage of cooler weather as they prepare for football season.
Another player who would benefit from actually showing up to camp is Mincey.
Murray posted 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns, while there wasn’t another running back who came close to his production. After playing all 16 games for the Raiders last season – a first in his pro career – he hoped his injuries were in the past.
Unfortunately for McFadden, the injury bug has already bitten him this season.
Head coach Jason Garrett will lead the Cowboys through team workouts, including offense, defense and situational work.
However, the 72-year-old business mogul may have given the most controversial comment during his interview by saying that “the combination of Randle and McFadden” was the type of running back they had when Murray was still with the team. “This is my first time ever experiencing free agency and really understanding the business aspect of the NFL and it’s a great business to be a part of and like I said, it was all business”.
Now, the NFL’s active-leader in rushing yards, free agent running back Steven Jackson, has made his desire to play for the America’s Team public.
Randle was implying that he could have done more than Murray did if he was given the opportunity on the field.
“We certainly won’t be talking to him about it while he’s not here”, Jones said.
“I want them to know their assignments and that they’ve done a good job with that”. “This year’s team is different than last year’s team and we all have to understand that. Just going to focus on the day-to-day grind”. “Nobody else is. I am working on perfecting my flaws and getting back and being healthy and doing my best to put it behind me”.
“I’m very disappointed about that, there’s no doubt”, McFadden said.
So now Garrett gets questions about building on what happened last season, and treats them the same way he did after three straight 8-8 seasons that ended without a postseason berth.
