Cowboys celebrate Thanksgiving in style

It was a happy Thanksgiving in Cowboys Nation, as Dak Prescott led the Cowboys to a 31-26 victory over the division rival Washington Redskins. “And it’s just now beginning!”

Following Dallas’ win over Washington, Twitter exploded with support for America’s Team, from players, Cowboys legends, celebrities, media members and fans. Prescott threw for 195 yards and scored two total touchdowns.

The NFL-leading Cowboys (10-1) haven’t lost since their 20-19 setback to the New York Giants in the opener, when Prescott and rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott made their NFL debuts. “It was a great environment”.

But when the Redskins got into the red zone, Cousins and the offense faltered. The offensive game plan was aggressive and they threw deep, early and often.

Cousins completed 41 of 53 passes for 449 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Dallas quickly followed with a 75-yard drive that unflappable rookie quarterback Dak Prescott finished with a 6-yard touchdown run.

2nd Quarter: Cousins completes a five-yard pass to wide receiver Maurice Harris with the sun in his face. But Dallas answered with touchdowns each time the Redskins got within a score on Cousins passes of 5 yards to Jordan Reed and 67 yards to DeSean Jackson, who had 118 yards receiving.

With just a three-day turnaround, Jay Gruden and his coaching staff had their squad ready to play. But Washington came out flat, and Dallas did not. Place kicker Dan Bailey hit the 46-yarder to extend the Cowboys’ lead to 10-3. The Cowboys, however, won despite not forcing a turnover, despite losing the time of possession battle, despite being outgained by 152 yards (505-353) and not sacking Cousins once.

The Dallas Cowboys struggled in the first half against the Washington Redskins and still went into halftime with a 17-6 lead.

Hopkins connected later on field goals of 24 and 20 yards in the second quarter.

It was the longest drive in time of possession against the Dallas defense all season at 7:55. His replacement, Scott Tolzien, had 205 yards passing and one touchdown, but he was intercepted twice. When you lack the surefire, go-to play and the brawn to execute it, play-calls aren’t automatic, and that leads to some skewed thinking.

I know Tom Brady has the Super Bowl rings and numerous people in the running for the MVP have more experience than Prescott, I feel Prescott’s presence alone on the Cowboys this season should also be a valid argument.

The growth that they’ve had and the responsibility we’ve put on them. “We cant continue to shoot ourselves in the foot with some of those penalties and negative plays.”. Cousins’s final touchdown, to Reed, wasn’t enough to alter the outcome. “Those plays can change the game”.
