Cowboys’ Dez Bryant tangles with cornerback Tyler Patmon in prolonged incident
The lengthy negotiations going back to last November fueled speculation that the Cowboys were still anxious about off-the-field issues that plagued Bryant in his first two years in the NFL.
The fight came on the final play of team drills. I already have seen Cowboys fans crying because the media is blowing Dez Bryant trying to punch a teammate out of proportion. Bryant and Patmon hugged and shook hands on the field, per the Cowboys’ official website.
“It’s two great competitors”, Bryant said. Which it is. Because this is training camp, where sometimes people just scuffle. “We’re brothers and we squash it. That was it, it’s over”.
‘Sure enough, here comes some after-the-whistle action.’.
Regardless, the Cowboys probably aren’t thrilled to see Bryant – the guy they gave a new $70 million contract to – throwing (and taking) punches during practice. Like, thanks, I can go purchase me a house and now I can deal with my household. The two appeared to exchange words after a play, then tried to knock each other out with haymakers. He played in 11 games and both of Dallas’ playoff games. “It’s all about the work I put in”, Bryant said. You know, crownies, the cross between a cookie and brownie that the artsy-craftsy quarterback talks about in his DirecTV commercial. Nobody competes more the Dez Bryant. Bryant has this to say after practice. I was giving him a little bit of mouth, talking about a whole bunch of stuff to him. I just hate the fact that when it’s me, I know that I can get kind of animated with everything. “It’s competition. You go through it and you get it worked out in the locker room and it’s all fine”.
For starters, it means the 2015 NFL regular season is right around the corner, so you better start prepping for your fantasy football drafts.
