Cowboys’ Garrett talks with Hardy about comments

Naturally, heading into his season and Cowboys debut, Hardy was asked numerous questions from reporters about domestic violence on Tuesday. So to think that Goodell didn’t see the comments that have been circulating for days from a player it’s his responsibility to keep an eye on, isn’t really believable.

Opinions also differ on the intent and severity of Hardy’s Brady/Gisele remarks. He’s excited his return is against the World Champion Patriots.

The Patriots star said as follows. Despite the great looks of Gisele, Hardy shouldn’t have taken a shot at a players wife. A few guys just need reinforcement one way or the other when they reach out and do a few of those things.

Brady said Hardy was a “dynamic” player, and he noted that Dallas will also be getting back Rolando McClain, who was suspended four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. “I don’t really care about his personal feelings”.

The Cowboys had only 28 sacks last season, a big reason they signed Hardy, and have only six sacks this season, including three last week against New Orleans. They do great things in their communities. Deflategate was, of course, a challenging situation for Tom both on the career and home fronts, as many rumors started swirling that the drama was taking a toll at home.

Ugh. But what about the comments about Brady’s wife? And clearly, Hardy leads the league in tone deafness.

Hardy is returning from a four-game suspension – which was reduced from 10 games – that stemmed from a domestic-violence incident he was arrested for past year. That’s because Hardy, who in July 2014 was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and threatening to kill her, was benched by the Panthers and later placed on the NFL’s Exempt/Commissioner’s Permission List. They’d apparently reached a civil settlement, ESPN said, and she intentionally didn’t make herself available.

He even said he wants to see Tom Brady’s wife.

“In walk-throughs, he’s going hard and he’s watching his keys and making sure he’s playing the way he wants to in the game”, Crawford said.

During his first press-conference after the suspension, the defensive end showed little contrition for his assault except to apologize for not being there for his teammates.
