Cowboys: Joseph Randle facing suspension for offseason arrest
Randle met with NFL investigators this summer and again within the past week, and the NFL determined that he violated the league’s personal conduct policy, which will carry consequences.
Now, the Cowboys have to figure out how to deal with Randle’s outburst; Randle was also arrested twice since last fall, and accused of domestic violence. Randle had also been arrested for shoplifting at a Texas mall.
A lot of questions came up when Randle left the Cowboys’ practice facility on Wednesday, October 28, with sources telling ESPN.com that it was due to more than just a change in his role. Todd Archer at ESPN Dallas writes that Randle could be fined since the charges were dropped, but that a one or two game suspension is possible.
Head Coach Jason Garrett said that Randle had an excused absence because of “personal matters” Wednesday, but Randle did not speak with Garrett on Thursday.
Randle, who in the offseason said he thought DeMarco Murray “left a lot of meat on the bone” last season despite leading the National Football League in carries and rushing yards, has been pedestrian in his opportunity as the starter.
Dallas Cowboys’ Joseph Randle (21) breacks a tackle by New York…
Granted, McFadden is no spring chicken, but he appears to have a better feel for the game as a starting running back than Randle.
You might remember back in February that Randle had a little run-in with the law in Wichita, Kansas. Randle reportedly did show up to the Cowboys facility on Thursday, but he didn’t talk to Garrett.
The Cowboys host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. EST. Christine Michael and Rod Smith are the other tailbacks on the roster.
Randle has put himself in bad situations numerous times, and it doesn’t really seem like he’s learned from his mistakes.
