Cowboys reach deal with ex-Seahawks running back Robert Turbin
Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle was the first to report the agreement, and it was later confirmed by Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan, who noted the Cowboys’ desire to get Turbin involved in practice quickly.
The Cowboys signed running back Robert Turbin (No. 27) who was released by the Browns earlier in the week.
The Cowboys waived Christine Michael on Tuesday but still owe Seattle a draft pick for him.
He is the third former Seahawks running back the Cowboys have picked up this season.
Add in the fact that quarterback Tony Romo is expected to return from a broken clavicle in Week 11, and Turbin may suddenly find himself in an advantageous position after a less-than-stellar run in Cleveland.
The Cowboys will travel to play the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. He got banged up at the end of the preseason, so I think that put them in a roster situation where they had to move on from him. We’ve liked him. He’s played well in the league. Michael only got 15 carries in five games with Dallas, however, and even the departure of Joseph Randle didn’t do anything to get him an increased workload. Turbin has only rushed for 60 yards on 18 carries this season, but was a solid running back in Seattle for three years. The fact that no National Football League team has given Rice a chance is suspicious.
