Cowboys set to launch the Matt Cassel era

In Romo’s absence, the Cowboys have averaged 315.3 yards per game, including 201.3 yards passing. Charles suffered a season-ending knee injury last weekend and was put on injured reserve. He presided over an offense that went three-and-out in six of the team’s first seven possessions. It was just team defense. They did that, especially on third downs. Our defense played their tales off the entire night.
While the defense certainly isn’t helping by giving up yards and points either, they are on the field too much. Today, we didn’t get it done. He hasn’t had receivers winning enough on the outside.
Cassel has completed 59 percent of his passes for 15,727 yards with 96 touchdowns, 70 interceptions and an 80.1 passer rating. “We’ll make any determinations as the week goes on”.
It’s not the first time Weeden has heard questions whether he should start.
Before Weeden began his three-game run as the starter, Jones was talking up the fourth-year quarterback, saying he was “a thing of beauty throwing the football”. That’s got to be our mindset. He’s been here for a little bit.
The Cowboys should exert more effort playing against the Giants the second time around. Good punt return. Put our offense in good field position. Getting those guys on the ground isn’t that easy. “They did a good job”.
It is fair to note that teammates generally play better for a quarterback they believe in. During the bye week, they will retool and get back to work against the New York Giants. “We take it seriously”. The way (the Patriots) play, the free safety plays pretty deep, and he is rangy. “As soon as we see it, we’re doing it”. Beasley, Whitehead, obviously the backs, McFadden, Randle. So those are a lot of our opportunities out there. We had a few that were close and we just didn’t come down with them.
“During a bye week, you have to look at all your options”. I’m never going to lose confidence in my ability. Jaime, I don’t know what he had out there but he was in on a lot of them (tackles).
Hardy finally made his debut on Sunday when defending Super Bowl champion New England trounced the Cowbys 30-6.
IRVING, Texas – Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett is not one to make quick, emotional decisions. That’s what their role is.
That would be weird and inappropriate for any football player.
“I think Brandon is a confident player”. He hasn’t had a strong running game. I won’t let it faze me. “The first couple of weeks I felt I did that”.
As he stood outside the Cowboys’ locker room after Sunday’s loss to the Patriots, Weeden said he understands how the game is played when it comes to his position.
Battle lines are forming around Greg Hardy, the Dallas Cowboys defensive end who just recently returned to the field after 19 games out following an ugly domestic violence incident. It’s no secret that when you get pressure on Brady, chances are you can at least keep things close. I thought our defense played extremely well. “But, heck, it’s great to have those kind of wins – 5-0 feels good”. Down 10 points to the Patriots at halftime is no place to be.
