Crash Bandicoot trilogy being remastered for the PlayStation 4
Sony has announced Crash 1, Crash 2 and Crash Warped will be getting remastered for the PS4, although details are now unknown.
Although E3 2016 had many highlights to choose from, be it the inaugural trailer for Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding or the quite frankly terrifying-looking Resident Evil 7 for PlayStation VR, for many gamers there was one clear victor.
The companies also revealed that Crash will be joining “Skylanders Imaginators”. But, Sony’s President and CEO Andrew House has said that they haven’t completely closed the door on a new Crash title.
Those familiar will recognise the games as Crash Bandicoot, Wrath of Cortex and Warped originally released on the original PlayStation One in the 90’s.
As if this news wasn’t enough, the minds of many Crash Bandicoot fans were already set racing with the possibilities for more.
“We’ve started to say that maybe there isn’t anything wrong with going back and looking at characters that people still talk about, that were a big part of either their childhood or their youth”.
A wormhole has opened in Skylands and the great Aku Aku appears! He comes to announce the once in two decades Synchronization Celebration. All the inhabitants of Wumpa Island are having a party and they want to invite the Skylanders.
Everyone’s favourite gaming marsupial will return to the Playstation 4 in 2017 as the original three Crash Bandicoot games get the remastering treatment.
Remade versions of older games are nothing new and similar PS4 treatments have been given to The Last of Us and Uncharted. According to Activision, these games will be available for PS3, and Xbox as well.
The award-winning, $3 billion Skylanders® franchise has sold through more than 250 million toys since pioneering the toys-to-life category in 2011 with the debut of Skylanders® Spyro’s Adventure. “Skylanders Imaginators” will be available later this year on October 16 for North America.
