Cristiano Ronaldo’s mega-million dollar project
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo announced on Tuesday he will invest over 37 million euros (about 40 million USA dollars) in “CR7” hotels.
Ronaldo is not only a superstar footballer, but a business-minded man. The first hotel is scheduled to open in summer 2016 in Madeira. “It’s an investment in a completely different area, but as you can imagine the goal is to take care of my future and the future of my son”, Ronaldo told reporters. “I have to dedicate myself to this new project, and I have the best team in the world around me”.
“A person like me, I’m a fighter, ambitious and always striving for more”. “But who knows if I’ll change my mind”.
“Ever since I started playing I have tried to represent my country in the best possible way, and at the personal level I always do my job to perfection”, Ronaldo declared.
Although the player did not explicitly refer to a possible offer from French side Paris Saint-Germain, he said that he loves living in Madrid and will possibly stay in Spain when he ends his career.
“This joint venture has enormous potential, says Dionísio Pestana, “it also echoes the constant innovation spirit that embodies The Pestana Hotel Group”. The hotels are reported to be in his native Lisbon, Madrid and NY.
“The first project will be born in Madeira, where our roots and our families are”, explained the 123-times capped global, adding that the hotel will be located close to the museum dedicated to his career that he financed at Funchal, the capital of the island.
Dionísio Pestana, Owner and Chairman of Pestana Hotel Group, and Cristiano Ronaldo – who both hail from Madeira, acknowledge that this collaboration emerges from a great mutual empathy and trust.
