Cristiano Ronaldo wants to stay at Real Madrid for ‘two more years’
Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested he could leave Real Madrid when his contract expires in June 2018.
In a light-hearted interview he dampened incessant transfer rumours linking him with a switch to either big-spending Paris Saint-Germain or former club Manchester United.
He still has another two years left on his current deal at the Bernabeu, with the forward confirming that he wants to finish out his contract before thinking about his future plans. Now we just have to wait and see where that will be.
He told Marca: ‘I have been in Spain six years. That’s the duration of my contract and I want to give my all in that time.
The Madrid star has also paid tribute to his supporters.
“It’s a lovely award and it’s the third time that I’ve won it since joining Real Madrid”. “Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to score so many goals last season”.
While the Portuguese also asked the Real Madrid fans “to keep doing what they are doing, to keep supporting us”.
And while Capello managed another Ronaldo – the Brazilian great – during one of his two stints at Madrid, the Italian admits replacing Rafael Benitez, who was sacked by the club after just six months in January, and coaching the Portugal global was never on the cards, with Zinedine Zidane instead appointed. “Us players are going to go out and give our all to try to win titles and lift the Champions League”.
