Critics brand latest Star Wars film ‘exhilarating’

I watched the teaser trailer at Star Wars Celebration in April and then avoided anything on the film.

The man who created the entire “Star Wars” world received a standing ovation from the audience at a Hollywood movie theater as he sat next to his long-time collaborator Steven Spielberg.

The film will receive its United Kingdom premiere later on Wednesday and will begin its release roll-out, opening in cinemas in France, South Africa and several other countries.

The movie opens on Friday, though several theaters in the Phoenix area will begin showing it Thursday evening. It had its world premiere in Los Angeles on Monday evening.

And that’s just the first new film in the franchise.

Brett Morgan, director of Kurt Cobain documentary Montage of Heck, was definitely won over, writing: “Force Awakens might be the best blockbuster since the original”.

No doubt longtime fans of the series will be happy to catch up with the characters introduced so long ago in “A New Hope”.
