Crowd boos when Donald Trump attacks Ted Cruz at conservative confab
Diving right into the new season of “Saturday Night Live”, the show began with a GOP debate where Ted Cruz and Donald Trump were center stage.
A longtime attorney in Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz’s hometown of Houston has filed a federal lawsuit that questions the Canadian-born lawmaker’s eligibility to be president of the United States.
Asked if Cruz was making a subtle ethnic dig with his “New York values” comment, Trump said he didn’t know, adding, “probably you would have to ask him”. It continues, “Hey Cruz: you don’t like New York values? Go back to Canada!” the cover read.
He believes Cruz “needs to apologize to New Yorkers and to Americans in general”.
When asked to explain his NY values comments, Taran Killam as Ted Cruz replied, “I think most people know exactly what NY values are”.
“I imagine it pulled him out of bed this morning and sent him tweeting and tweeting and tweeting”, Cruz said, referring to a bevy of negative Twitter posts from the developer.
The bank-loan attack mirrors part of Trump’s raging, eight-hour tweetstorm against Cruz earlier in the day.
“I think that whether you’re a Democrat or whether you’re Republican, that every New Yorker was upset about it. Because it was nuts!” the grocery store mogul and Republican donor told MSNBC on Friday afternoon. “People are waking up, and just like millions of New Yorkers, they’re fed up with policies that don’t fight for the working men and women of this country but instead further the elite liberal views that have taken this country down a path that is not working”.
Immediately after Thursday’s debate, Mr Trump told journalists at the media centre: “I guess the bromance is over”. “And we rebuilt downtown Manhattan, and everyone in the world watched and loved NY and New Yorkers”.
He then scolded Cuomo for his remarks that people who don’t embrace his liberal values are not true New Yorkers.
Other people wrote about the diversity and cultural awareness in NY.
“I recognize that Donald is dismayed that his poll numbers are falling in Iowa”, Cruz said. “I think that’s ludicrous”.
