Cruz Beckham, 11, releases debut holiday song for charity
But after Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan criticised the Beckhams for allowing their youngest son to release a single, Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter, who is said to have signed up the young Beckham, waded in.
Cruz’s manager Scooter Braun caught wind of the discussion and hit back at Piers on Twitter.
Yet despite taking his first tentative steps into the music world – and possibly challenging his mom’s band mates in the charts – it has to be remembered that Cruz is still only 11.
But of course, there are A LOT of Cruz fans out there and they jumped to his defence.
Speaking to Capital FM this morning, Cruz said of his new single, “It’s unbelievable!”
The young boy’s social media account is created and managed by Scooter Braun Productions.
One of the videos shows Cruz singing Cody Simpson and Bieber’s “Home to Mama” in the recording studio. Not only this, but there is also an image that speculates the possibility of an interesting announcement this week.
The entire Beckham family is excited about Cruz entry into the music family.
Great right? What’s wrong with a young kid following his dreams?
Cruz, who says he listens to Bruno Mars, The Vamps and Beyonce, revealed that if he could do a song with one artist it would be Ed Sheeran. “He’s always the one that plays football, and he was just sitting in the back of the vehicle one day, and he was singing, and I was like, ‘Wow, you can really sing!’ And then he picked up his cups, and off he went!” But then is it a surprise when your mother is an ex-Spice Girl?
Proud papa David posted a clip of Cruz reacting to his morning radio appearance. Our fingers are crossed that this isn’t the last we see of Cruz!
Having David Beckham as a dad would be pretty handy to any ambitious youngster, if not only for the number of doors he could open with a click of his fingers.
