Cruz, Clinton Lead in Support from Texas Legislature

Texas is the largest state holding its presidential primary on Super Tuesday and could make or break the campaign of native son Sen.

“I took a leave of absence from my career because I believe our country is in crisis and because I believe that doing something about that right now is the most important thing before us for our children”, Heidi Cruz told TheBlaze during a backstage interview in an industrial kitchen before an event at the University of Texas at Tyler Saturday.

She plans to campaign in MA and Virginia for the next two days. Cruz needs a big win here to regain control of race that has been trending in Trump’s favor for the past three weeks, raising questions about the Texas senator’s chances.

Heidi Cruz called that line of attack “absolutely inconsistent” with what she knows of her husband’s character.

Now her star power is being put to the test in Texas.

Even current Texas Gov. Greg Abbott came out to try to help deliver the Lone Star State.

Cruz held a meet-and-greet at the Cruz Crew center off Lake Air Drive.

“My background has been in business and economics”, said Cruz.

“I know when I vote for Ted Cruz for president he will live up the promise of true conservative values for the United States of America”, said Abbott.

Cruz finished third in Nevada, South Carolina and New Hampshire.

If the Texas Legislature reflects the sentiment of Texas voters, Republican Ted Cruz and Democrat Hillary Clinton should do very well in their respective primaries today. She is believed to be one of the reasons that Dewhurst donated $2,700 – the maximum amount – to Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign last month.

Sen. Ted Cruz held a rally at Gilley’s in Dallas Monday morning where Gov. Greg Abbott and former Gov. Rick Perry both spoke on his behalf. But Heidi Cruz said her husband is happy to let candidates like Rubio and Trump battle it out by calling names.
