Cruz Defends Himself Against Attacks From Trump, Rubio
Trump has threatened to sue Cruz over negative ads the latter’s campaign is running in SC and over the senator’s eligibility as a presidential candidate.
As the third major contest in the primary campaign, SC is accustomed to settling divergent results in Iowa and New Hampshire, with the victor here emerging as the nominee in each presidential cycle from 1980 to 2008.
Haley is scheduled to campaign with Rubio at an event tonight in Chapin, South Carolina.
A campaign aide to former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said Haley called Bush, also vying for the party nomination, to inform him of her plan to endorse Rubio. It doesn’t change anything. “He doesn’t have one Republican endorsement from the Senate and he works with the Senate”. He accused Cruz supporters of using “push polls” and creating a fake Facebook page wrongly claiming that South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy had switched his endorsement from the Florida senator to Cruz. And six of the seven polls conducted in SC since February 10, including the two released Monday, show Kaisch scoring at least 9 percent.
Bush said he would not stop responding to Trump and vowed to have a toughness of spirit. We’ve got territories and other places, Guam, these other places. But Trump continues to post strong leads in Saturday’s SC primary.
A year ago she gained national attention by leading an effort to remove the Confederate battle flag from the state Capitol grounds after the killing of nine black churchgoers in Charleston. Trump said at the press conference that he already hired a lawyer. “What we’ve seen in the last couple weeks is disturbing….”
“I’m doing what a lot of people in SC are doing”, she said. The second is Trump’s statement that his “abortion-supporting” sister would be a great Supreme Court justice.
Cruz went on to describe the letter and trash Trump, “It is quite literally the most ridiculous theory that I’ve ever heard, that telling the voters what Donald Trump’s actual record is, is deceitful and lying”. “And I saw that”.
“I really am a conservative, but I’m also a commonsense person”. And so I think – now things are too polarized. “I think there may be a correlation”. “Because then they’d say, ‘Oh, what’s he saying?’ And they would shut up”.
Marco Rubio was asked about addressing racism issues. “It’s a marathon. It’s not a 100-yard dash”, Spencer said. He said that if a candidate finishes in the single digits Saturday, “you ought to quit”. However, Ham told Yahoo News, he was personally coming under fire for that position.
Trump thought one way to fight back on the allegations thrown at him and it is to push through with a lawsuit against Ted Cruz.
