Cruz Says Trump May Be ‘Unstoppable’ With Big Super Tuesday Wins
If Clinton has similarly strong wins in the Southern states that vote on Tuesday, the gains may be enough to grow her delegate lead to the point where Sanders can’t catch up.
Trump has won three of four early voting states, and Republicans are divided over the prospect of the brash billionaire becoming their nominee.
“It is time to stop the excuses”, Cruz said in the release.
Rubio said the remarks prove that the former reality show star is “unelectable”.
“I have a better chance of winning in OH than he has in Florida”.
Christie told Scott he had not ruled out serving with Trump as the tycoon’s running mate, if asked. So did Ohio Governor John Kasich, who also appeared on CNN. Trump refused to distance himself from the white supremacist while an incredulous host repeatedly prodded him about it.
Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney also chimed in on Monday. Bernie Sanders lashed out on Twitter: “America’s first black president can not and will not be succeeded by a hatemonger who refuses to condemn the KKK”.
Despite making promises to reveal his records, the Republican front runner in the White House race said he will not disclose them until the Inland Revenue Service completes a routine audit of them.
Gov. Larry Hogan’s chief of communications, Matt Clark, said in a telephone interview he was declining “to answer a hypothetical” on whether Hogan would support Trump, because Trump is not yet the nominee.
On NBC’s “Meet the Press”, Cruz said he would be “thrilled” if Trump released anything. “I promise you, that you are going to look back on this night and you are going to say this was a very important night… a very important evening in your life”.
Play video “Who is Ted Cruz?”. And Cruz faces a make-or-break moment in his home state of Texas.
“I will campaign as hard as it takes, I will stay in this race as long as it takes”, Rubio told the crowd.
In the last few days, Rubio has campaigned in Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Minnesota and Tennessee.
Democrats will award delegates in the same states as Republicans, apart from Alaska, and they are also competing in Colorado and in American Samoa.
“Super Tuesday will continue to narrow the field”, Cruz said. “This is what happens when someone is caught, like Donald Trump has been, as a con artist”, he said on Fox News Sunday.
An estimated 6,000 showed up to see Rubio at Mount Paran Christian School in Kennesaw, while hundreds filled about a third of Liberty Plaza next to the Georgia State Capitol to see Cruz.
Trump, a part-time resident of Palm Beach, received 44%, well ahead of Rubio (28%), Cruz (12%), Kasich (7%), and Carson (4%). The number is higher in Georgia (46%) and Texas (52%), but around one in five voters in every state say they might still change their minds. I’ve known him for 14 years.
