Cruz slams Trump for supporting gay troops
Campaigning in New Hampshire on Monday, Ted Cruz became the latest Republican presidential candidate to speak openly about a family member’s experience with addiction. Their unseemly political battle raised questions about whether either man has the temperament to be commander in chief.
The Quinnipiac poll in Iowa found that 66% of Trump’s supporters say they are more enthusiastic about this caucus than they have been in the past, a little above the 57% of Cruz’s supporters who say the same. He was so nice to me.
“I feel pretty strongly that he’ll end up being a good mayor, maybe a very good mayor”, Trump is heard saying in the October 31, 2013 interview with The Post’s Fredric U. Dicker on WGDJ radio. Let’s go, OK. But he’s a nasty guy. But Trump said he wasn’t mocking him. He hopes his attacks will bring him the support of those Republicans who intensely dislike Trump. “You can’t make deals with people like that and it’s not a good thing”. “I’d do the public a big favor”, Trump responded, without saying whether he’d actually file such a suit, the Daily Caller reported.
Trump later said that the issue of Cruz’s birth may prompt him to file a lawsuit himself.
“Donald’s record does not match what he says as a candidate”, Cruz told reporters before a national security forum in Fort Mill, South Carolina that morning. “For whatever reason, Donald doesn’t react well when he’s going down in the polls”.
According to a Quinnipiac University poll the two candidates are virtually tied in Iowa, with Trump at 31% and Cruz 29%. They avoided taking pot shots at one another, even while they were competing for the same group of conservative and Evangelical Christian voters.
Cruz managed to knock both Trump and Sen.
Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida was next at 11 percent, followed by retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 9 percent. In a Marist poll, Trump is ahead of the pack in New Hampshire at 30%. Sanders is Hillary Clinton’s problem, but Trump is Cruz’s problem (and vice-versa).
Saturday Night Live’s version of Ted Cruz admits what he really means when he says “New York values”, and it’s not just about abortion or same-sex marriage.
Trump suggested Saturday that the Texas senator is owned by big banks like Citi and Goldman Sachs.
The Texas senator took to social media before Sunday’s Democratic presidential debate to ask “which team” Trump would play for.
Also in 2009, Trump praised Obama’s stimulus proposal on Fox News, via BuzzFeed News, adding, “I thought [Obama] did a terrific job”.
Cruz has distributed the attack clip online – and also referenced the interview during the Republican Party debate this week, in another attack on Trump.
“If he publicly supports their views and he finances their causes and if he’s done so for 60 years of his life, and then suddenly when he announces as candidate for president, every single one of his views changes”, Cruz told Kuhner, then his new position is suspect.
