Cruz: Trump is relying on Clinton supporters to attack me
It should come as no surprise that Donald Trump is at the top of our rankings and has held that spot since August.
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – For all the passionate support Donald Trump has amassed in New Hampshire, many Republicans and independent voters are just as passionate about not voting for Donald Trump.
Asked on the show about Hillary Clinton’s comments that Trump “was basically a Democrat before he was a Republican”, Cruz noted, “I would say Hillary would know well how to identify Democrats”.
“I would have ripped into Trump saying he had no understanding of the first obligation of a president, which is because he has unique responsibility as it relates to the deterrent effect of what the nuclear triad bring”, Bush said, bashing Sen. Cruz loses SC and begins to look like a Trump spoiler going into the rest of the South. “You either love him or you hate him”, Sabato says. “Senator Cruz is a natural born citizen by virtue of the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution”, Wasserman Schultz said. John Cornyn, who said Tuesday, “I’ve said that I intend to stay out of the presidential primary, and that continues to be the case, but I don’t have any doubt that Sen”. Most legal experts believe Cruz’s American mother is enough to qualify him for the presidency as a “natural-born citizen”, but courts have never ruled on the issue.
Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush Tuesday argued that front-runner Donald Trump, if elected president, would create a “global depression” because of his proposal to impose high tariffs on Chinese goods.
“Listen, any time somebody’s attacking your faith, it starts to suggest they’re getting really nervous about what’s happening in the race”, Cruz said.
Cruz’s allies do appear to be keeping Rubio on their radar: Along with the potential attacks on Trump, the call sought reaction to four current ads featuring Rubio, in addition to Trump’s first television ad and three ads featuring Cruz (one negative and two positive). “They do not like seeing conservatives uniting behind our campaign because they recognize if conservatives unite, we win”.
The change from Cruz’s seven-months-old, turn-the-other-cheek strategy, which was on display just 24 hours ago, involves aggressively highlighting Trump’s ties to the Democratic Party. “I haven’t reciprocated. I don’t intend to”. “Every day, we’re seeing conservatives and libertarians and evangelicals”.
Bush was also asked about working to help people with disabilities. “And if conservatives unite, we win”.
Cruz has no momentum in New Hampshire and finishes fourth or fifth there. Cruz is returning to the state Sunday for a five-day bus tour through all 10 counties.
“We are reaching the stage in the campaign where the voters are starting to seriously examine the candidates, examine their records”, Cruz said. He is the “second choice” candidate of 23% of likely Republican caucus-goers, according to the poll, while Rubio is the second most popular alternative option, with 16% saying he is their second choice.
If the Republican Party actually were still a political party, Rubio would be in fat city.
