Cubs open up as favorites to win 2017 World Series
Writer Peggy Herrington says she hid under a blanket during an “emotional roller coaster” as the Cubs blew a 5-1 lead and needed 10 innings to secure the win against Cleveland.

The Chicago Cubs celebrate their massive ratings win.
Obama is a professed White Sox fan, but he clearly has a soft spot in his heart for the Cubs breaking an 108-year drought. According to the Westgate SuperBook (via ESPN), the Cubs are opening up next year as 3-1 favorites to bring home yet another World Series to Chicago.
As the game ended, the roar from inside the bars and the throng of fans on the streets was deafening.
The Cubs went against the grain by drafting bats, not arms, knowing that they could trade for pitchers and polish some rough diamonds.
“This is actually, for Cubs fans, the greatest thing since sliced bread”, Obama said. “I would not have missed it for anything”. I’m so proud of this group. “We did it. We’re world champions”. Even with all of those hexes out of the way, I hope that Cubs fans can continue to appreciate the songs, the stadium, the neighborhood, and most importantly the game itself. I was glad that I took my kids to Wrigley Field when the Cubs were bad (on that trip my son bought me a shirt that read, “Jesus said to the Cubs, “Don’t do nothing till I get back”).
“I’m just thinking about all my relatives and friends who have come and gone off this Earth without seeing any success for the Cubs”, Erbach said.
The setbacks prompted the annual refrain of “Wait until next year”.

But through the first three games of the series, the Cubs had a grand total of zero long balls.
“We won the World Series”.
The celebration of the Cubs’ first title in 108 years will kick off when team buses leave Wrigley Field at 10 a.m. for an official launch of the parade at 11 a.m.
They’ll relive the game for generations, these Cubs fans, talking about the magical night in Cleveland when the skies opened up and the curse of the Billy Goat was buried once and for all. I’m still in shock.
