Cubs Win, Send ‘Back to the Future’ Prophecy One Step Closer!
II, which by now you probably know sees Marty McFly travel to the upcoming 21 October, 2015, predicts that the Cubs win the world series, defeating the Miami Marlins.
In 1985 Director Robert Zemeckis, Executive Producer Steven Spielberg and Producer/Screenwriter Bob Gale embarked on a three-part journey through time that broke box office records worldwide and catapulted Back to the Future into one of the most beloved trilogies in motion picture history. The latter have been in the news recently after being banned on roads: also known as self-balancing scooters, what we now call “hoverboards” don’t actually hover, but move on two wheels.
This happened in Back To The Future II but could it now happen for real? He goes on to explain the properties of the Hover Master: “No wheels, no friction, just little air; big air; air air; and mega air”.
We do have flat screens, stay video-calling, pill computer systems, and moveable up-to-the-minute climate apps.
– More sci than fi?
A few predictions were ahead of their time.
Innovators have drawn inspiration from the film: California-based mostly agency Hendo is making a hoverboard which works on magnetic repulsion.
Sci-fi has influenced scientific advancement through the ages, but the task may become harder as technological development accelerates exponentially.
Dawson foresees a future not with flying cars per se, but rather self-driving pods-a cheaper and safer alternative.
One factor that the film acquired wildly flawed: legal professionals haven’t been “abolished”.
