Curry delivers 38 points, 11 assists in Warriors’ win
Golden State’s Stephen Curry scores a game-high 38 points on 12-of-21 shooting as the Warriors defeat the Kings 128-116 on Saturday night at Sleep Train Arena. Medical experts pronounced the recovery time to be at least four weeks, thereby confirming fans’ fears: the Golden State Warriors will be playing sans Curry in the next games.
Curry scored 13 points in the third quarter, and the Warriors took a 106-87 into the final period.
Green had 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists for his eighth triple-double of the season – he leads the National Basketball Association in triple-doubles.
Over the past two seasons, the Warriors haven’t lost a game in which they led by 15 points or more. But the Warriors went to their small lineup_even with Cousins in the game. Allegedly, Doc declined the opportunity to allow CJ McCollum to play despite a clerical error that left him off the roster in the previous game. Brandon Rush added on to that shooting spree with a 20 point performance. “They’re dominating the league right now”.
The Kings blew a 27-point lead almost escaping a loss against the L.A. Lakers Thursday night with their 118-115 victory. I don’t see any signs of (them) letting up.
Rim Protector: Andrew Bogut’s going to have a helluva night against the Kings, namely DeMarcus Cousins. I approve of all quotes that spice up the 82-game season, but Klay, please don’t go Cavs fan on us with that injury stuff.
“I was just in a great rhythm”, he said. He became the first Blazer to reach 40 points and 10 assists at the Moda Center (Clyde Drexler did it at the old Memorial Coliseum.) He’s just the third player in the National Basketball Association to reach the combined total this season.
The Warriors also shot 56.2 percent from 3-point distance, making 18-of-32.
The Kings played without forward Omri Casspi (upper back soreness), who scored 36 points against the Warriors at Oracle Arena on December 28.
Cousins scored six points in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter, but that kept the Kings only within 104-94.
All-Star guard Damian Lilliard led the Trail Blazers with 40 points and 10 assists.
Stephen Curry still looks somewhat hobbled by a shin contusion, but is still more than capable of wreaking havoc at any given moment for the Warriors.
“The frustrating part about the start was that we were getting good shots but we just couldn’t score”, Stotts said. “Harrison is coming along”, Coach Luke Walton said.
Draymond Green set the tone early, scoring 18 of his 25 points in the first half on 4-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc.
You guys have been able to go down and then come back in games before, but against a team like the Warriors, is it more discouraging?
As per sfgate.com, Dr. Brian Schulz, of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles said “He’s just going to have to deal with pain, which he’s proven in the past is not a big deal for him”.
