Curry leads Warriors to 50th win, 102-92 over Hawks
For the majority of the game, the Warriors were blowing out the Hawks and opened up a 23-point lead in the third. Knowing LeBron James only has so many more miles in his legs before slowing down, or recognizing this year could be the last in which we see Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook as night-in, night-out teammates, does tint Golden State’s reign with a hint of regret.

However, Golden State is far from a “one-man show”.
The Golden State Warriors are the quickest team to get to 5o wins in a season, beating the Atlanta Hawks 102-92 on Monday night.
The Bee Sports staff tracks the Warriors’ progress toward breaking the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls’ record 72 wins, using a measuring stick from the past to gauge the present. Topping the league in road scoring, Golden State scores 115.8 points in away games.
“It’s really cool”, Klay Thompson, the other half of the “Splash Brothers”, said after Monday’s game. But they bounced back, as they always seem to do, tightening up on defense and riding their dynamic guard duo to another triumph.
Paul Millsap and Dennis Schroder led the way with 27 and 25 points, respectively.
The Warriors regained control in the fourth, helped by Curry’s 3 that left him wiggling his shoulders in front of the Atlanta bench. Regarding his team’s impressive accomplishment, Curry had this to say to ESPN. “It’s a special group”. “Fifty wins is great, but we’ve got to keep plugging away and staying hungry, because no one wants to talk about that in June”. He also had eight assists and six rebounds.
Although he didn’t record a single point for the Atlanta Hawks in their home loss to the Golden State Warriors, let’s not forget about Mike Scott who had 11 rebounds and an assist playing bigger minutes now that Tiago Splitter is out for the season with a hip injury. The Hawks have lost four straight at home for the first time since 2007.
“We haven’t lost two in a row all year, which we’re proud of”, Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters. Assuming they do reach that record-or even crack the 70-win threshold-each of their playoff matchups will take on that much more weight, too.
In Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo had 27 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, and the Bucks beat Los Angeles in retiring star Kobe Bryant’s last trip to the Bradley Center. Next up is Miami on Wednesday, followed by Orlando the following night and Oklahoma City on Saturday.
While the Warriors have dominated all season they still have plenty of work to do to ensure they retain the top seed heading into the postseason since the San Antonio Spurs are only 3-1/2 games back in the Western Conference. I’m not sure and the journey will be fun, but there is still a long way to go for Curry to reach MJ-land!
Things have changed for the only teams to win at least 60 games a season ago.
“Against a good team, you have to take advantage of as many opportunities as possible”, Budenholzer said.
But it’s clear this team is doing everything possible to ensure it will be mentioned in the same conversations with MJ’s Bulls. Credit should also be given to Warriors favorite Kent Bazemore, who has made himself into a solid National Basketball Association player and is averaging over 10 ppg. “It’s a different era”. “They’re wonderful to watch, very wonderful”. I think we made it as hard as you can in a lot of situations.
