Curry scores 38 points in Warriors’ 128-116 win over Kings
The Golden State Warriors defeated the Sacramento Kings 128-116 on Saturday night in a controlled, run-of-the-mill win for the defending champions to advance to 35-2. Stephen Curry averages 29.3 points and 2.2 steals per game. Less than 24 hours later, the Warriors travel to Sacramento to face the Kings as 8.5 point favorites for the game which will air on NBA League pass at 9 PM Central. “If we were completely healthy, we probably would still be undefeated, but Milwaukee caught us at a great time and they played a great game, so that’s hoops”. For the Kings to have a good chance of winning tonight the team needs them to step up.
Hawks 120, Bulls 105: Al Horford scored a season-high 33 points and had 10 rebounds, Paul Millsap added 18 points and Atlanta beat Chicago.
The Kings have won three of its past four games, most recently defeating the L.A. Lakers 118-115. Thompson had 24 points and Curry 13 to stake the Warriors to a 74-52 lead at the half. No player showed off the potential of the dilemma posed by the Warriors’ attack better than Brandon Rush.
Magic 83, Nets 77: NEW YORK – Victor Oladipo and Nikola Vucevic each scored 20 points to lead Orlando over Brooklyn, which has lost nine straight home games.
Following the win, Curry voiced his frustration over the injury, stating that it’s something he can play through and doesn’t expect it to be a long-term issue moving forward. The difference wasn’t just the innate brilliance of Curry and Thompson – Damian Lillard is no slouch – it was the Warriors’ work to get their shooters good shots.
“Moving the ball, hustling on defense and trying to do it consistently – as a team I feel like we have some lapses in those areas”, Horford said.
Klay Thompson scored 15 points, Andre Iguodala had 13 and Rush added 11 for the Warriors. Amid the successes of the Golden State Warriors, fans identify Curry as the primary factor in their accomplishments. The most impressive thing about the Clippers’ current run of form is the fact they’re doing it without Blake Griffin, who has missed their last seven games with a torn quadriceps tendon and is still weeks away from returning to the lineup. McCollum finished with 17 points against the Warriors.
Assistant coach Luke Walton, son of ex-Blazer great Bill Walton, ran the Warriors as he has done all season in the absence of head coach Steve Kerr, who continues to deal with back issues.
The Warriors were so haphazard with the ball that they didn’t get their first shot until the 10:31 mark. Stauskas is playing reasonably well for a frightful Philadelphia 76ers team and McLemore is posting a PER of just over 9.
The Milwaukee Bucks have recovered from their awful slump to post a. 500 record over their last 10 games but they have struggled defensively overall and on the road in particularly where they have posted a 5-16 record this season.
