Curry scores 46 points as Warriors improve to 10-0
Most regular season games with six-plus threes: Stephen Curry 51, Ray Allen 48, J.R. Smith 44, Peja Stojakovic 32, Reggie Miller 28, Jason Richardson 28, Nick Van Exel 27, Mike Miller 25.
“It could have been very embarrassing”, Curry said of the shot, smiling.
The Wolves have been one of the surprise packages at this early stage of the season, but the Warriors are just on another level and I can’t see anything but a win for Golden State.
At 10-0, the reigning champions are off to the best start in franchise history.
However, they are heading against one of the best teams in the league in the Warriors who have an unblemished record of 9-0 so far and are comfortably leading the Pacific Division – with the Los Angeles Clippers second but a big 3.5 games behind. That’s something, like I’ve said before, we just continue to fight.
More important than anything that happened on the scoreboard, we saw the players of the future put in meaningful contributions against a tough opponent. “It’s always nice to learn those lessons in wins”.
During Curry’s 2014-2015 MVP season, he averaged 23.8 points, 7.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds on 49% shooting from the field and 44% from beyond the arc. The Warriors appear to be unstoppable, even under interim head coach Luke Walton. It’s just human nature that what gets built too high must eventually be knocked down.
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry celebrates after making scoring a three-point shot to beat the buzzer at the end of the third quarter during an NBA basketball game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Wednesday, November 11, 20…
Goran Dragic finished with 14 points and Hassan Whiteside grabbed 14 rebounds for Miami, which started the game on a 9-0 run and opened the fourth quarter with a 13-4 spurt. Andrew Wiggins led the way for the Timberwolves with 19 points and first round pick Karl-Anthony Towns had another double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. At this point last season, Thompson had already posted five such games, with one of those being a 41-point outburst in the second game of the year. “Yeah, things are going well, but you can’t take anything for granted”.
The Wolves struggled to guard Curry all night as most teams do, but Steph Curry is simply an unbelievably fun player to watch.
“Everybody kind of feels that positive vibe out there on the floor, and it’s contagious”, Curry said. He hit four 3-pointers and also got three free throws after being fouled on another attempt.
But after Green checked back into the game, he hit a jump shot and dished out three assists in consecutive possessions, taking advantage of his opportunities to be the playmaker when the defense homed in on Curry. Zach has been playing a lot of minutes and we know we’ve got a back to back and in a game like this, you’ve got to try to put a guy there with experience. Golden State led 75- 63 at halftime – the 75 points is the most points scored in the first half in the league this season.
