Curry: Undefeated Warriors will lose before Panthers
Following a shootaround ahead of a Wednesday matchup against the Charlotte Hornets, Curry told reporters he believed the Warriors would lose their first game before the 11-0 Panthers do.
Charlotte Hornets television analyst Dell Curry is often called the “original Hornet” because he was the first player selected in the 1988 expansion draft.
The Curry family had barely cleared the floor when the Warriors superstar got going with a layup. They know nearly everything is falling anyway. Maybe Golden State will still be undefeated by then.
But the clutch shooting of Stephen Curry was again in full display and he led the team in scoring with 26 points, 10 of which were scored in the final frame. The Warriors are some kind of machine, and at this point, it doesn’t seem likely that they can be stopped any time soon.
Golden State led by eight when Curry started his scoring binge with a drive and a crafty one-handed layup at the rim. The Charlotte squad suffered a setback in Sunday’s win over Milwaukee when center Al Jefferson went down with a calf strain that is expected make him a spectator for the next two to three weeks. – Warriors interim coach Luke Walton, pre-game, on the change in the Hornets’ offense. The NBA’s reigning MVP, Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, is averaging almost 32 points per game along with seven dimes, and he thinks the Warriors will wind up losing before the Panthers do.
With the win, the Warriors improved their regular season winning streak to 24-0 (including four wins from last season). Even Batum, whose 17 were a team high, made only six of his 15 attempts.
Pistons 127, Suns 122 – Reggie Jackson scored 24 of his 34 points after halftime, and host Detroit rallied from 16 down in the fourth quarter to knock out Phoenix in overtime. The point guard is 52.4 percent from the field, 94.3 percent from the free throw line and 45.9 percent from three point range.
And having seen their progression, Curry sounds more excited about the Panthers’ success than his own team’s.
The Warriors committed 18 turnovers to the Hornets 8. Dell has been the color commentator for Hornets broadcasts since 2009 and is the Hornets all-time leading scorer after playing 10 seasons of his National Basketball Association career for the franchise.
