Customers say Starbucks red cups waging a war on Christmas
A group of evangelical Christians are seeing red over the design of this year’s Starbucks holiday cups, not for what they have on them, but for what is missing.
Starbucks removed the usual array of decorative images such as Christmas trees and snowflakes that adorned the cups in previous holidays with a simple red cup with their green and white logo.
Joshua Feuersten, a former pastor who calls himself a social media personality, says that Starbucks hates Jesus. He’s advising customers to tell the Starbucks barista that their name is Merry Christmas so the company is forced to include the words on the cup. I told them my name is Merry Christmas!
“When red Starbucks cups return, it’s a signal that the holiday season is drawing near”, the company said in a statement. He’s urging other customers to do the same, and to post selfies with the cups on social media. “SO I PRANKED THEM… and they HATE IT!!!!” he captioned a clip.

Let’s face it, each year we look forward to Starbucks’s festive holiday drinks and specially decorated cups.
Starbucks has revealed a minimalist design on its holiday themed cups, causing quite a stir to a few people. This year however, a subtle design change has a few claiming that the cups represent a case of political correctness gone awry. “The plain red design is meant to inspire a culture of diversity and feeling of belongingness”. “That’s why they’re just plain red”, he screeched in a post that has racked up 12.4 million views and 155,000 likes since Thursday.
“Starbucks has become a place of sanctuary during the holidays”, he said. Starting tomorrow, Starbucks stores across the USA “turn red” in celebration of the Christmas season, which, it noted, includes many Christmas-branded items.
He also proposed the hashtag #MerryChristmasStarbucks to protest the cups while noting that he was entering a local Starbucks while wearing a Jesus-related shirt and legally carrying a gun.
