CyanogenMod Releases Android 6.0 Marshmallow-Based CM13 Nightly Builds
However, it is quite important to say that the nightly builds are usually quite buggy and not stable enough to be used as daily drivers at such an early stage in their development. Initially, there were seven devices in total which were announced yesterday.
While we know the smartphone is part of Google’s Android One program, the good news what we are talking about is pretty much an easy guess work.
A new feature found on Marshmallow, Android Doze, is also provided in the nightly build of CyanogenMod13 update available for the Asus Nexus 7.
The people behind CyanogenMod, the customized operating system that uses Android as its source, have revealed that they’re now allowing users with certain devices to begin downloading “nightly” version of CyanogenMod 13, which is based on Android 6 Marshmallow. There are possibilities they might not work as designed. The developers also include some custom apps and features, including a file manager and starting with CM13, support for a Live Lockscreen which allows animated wallpapers to be displayed when the device is locked. It may also cause a bootloop after installation in some cases as well. Thus, it’s not very advisable to install nightly builds unless one has a hang of it. We’re sure T-Mobile users would be proud of this feature which is available to them via their respective carrier.
After you install one of these CM 13 Nighlty builds on your device, then you should keep updating it with new releases by going to Settings About Phone CyanogenMod Updates menu.
This is it for now, folks.
Taking these notes from Cyanogen into consideration, you can download CyanogenMod 13 nightlies here. It plans to release a higher-end flagship device at some point next year, alongside multiple budget-friendly $75 smartphones.
