Cyborg Superman’s Identity Revealed in “Supergirl” Preview Clip
Aside from anger on J’onn’s part, the result of this revelation was horrific visions of his dead family.
Flashback to 24 hours earlier. Alex asks Maggie to drop the Guardian thing. Because seconds later, we see J’onn at the DEO base. M’Gann stops by to check on him. This makes the public think that Guardian is a killer.
The following day, Snapper Carr shows the headline to Jimmy Olsen, who must defend Guardian. Between facing off with villainous anti-alien organization Cadmus, helping newcomer Mon-El (Chris Wood) assimilate to living on Earth, and working alongside Martian Manhunter (David Harewood) – who still spends much of his time in the form of Hank Henshaw – Supergirl has had her hands full. It turns out that Hank Henshaw is still alive, and thanks to Cadmus, has been cybernetically enhanced. The real one! He is pissed that J’onn has taken over his life and ruined what he built at the DEO. Supergirl asks why he’s fighting her, and he simply responds that it’s time for her to die. Some Cadmus upgrades maybe? Yep! A blast with heat vision reveals that Hank is now a cyborg, Cyborg Superman to be exact. Meanwhile, James in his new costume Guardian continues to play vigilant. Alex is super annoyed but knows that James isn’t a murderer. Alex (Chyler Leigh) told Kara that she’s gay, but Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) wasn’t interested in her romantically, leaving Alex crushed. With the threat of dying hanging over his head, Mon-El tries to tell her the truth about Daxam. Alex threatens to call Kara, but Winn talks her into letting James work this out for himself. How do you feel about Cyborg Superman as a villain? Despite M’gann’s denial of her kind’s bad treatment of the Green Martians, J’onn was furious and made her transform into her true form before he attacked her. She informs J’onn that because of the blood transfusion, J’onn is also turning into a White Martian.
According to the actor, Mon-El will find himself in a “difficult position” which pushes him out of his comfort zone. Once she went through with wearing it, Kara lost her powers and was distracted and weakened enough for Lillian to draw her blood. There will be characters moving about between TV series each of the four nights, but then they will all come together on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow as the heroes band as one to take on the Dominators. Lillian wants Kara to deplete herself of all her radiation energy so that she become “human”.
Winn cracks the case on the vigilante. Out to avenge his wife’s death, Phillip Karnowsky, another vigilante, has been targeting criminals who evade justice thanks to technicalities. The Guardian tracks the man down and they two battle. Watching this fight made me realize that they should really have made a Robocop vs. Judge Dredd movie. They let the Guardian go and his name is cleared. End Note also that, Mon-El seems very interested in the love life of Kara – so much so that it is not very subtle, asking if she’s single to Winn and James. Well, I’ve certainly never seen Kara get anywhere faster (I predicted this Kara/Mon-El romance episodes ago). He then shot a mooney-eyed stare at Kara from across her apartment and it became obvious that he’s developed pretty serious feelings for his superhero mentor. No longer able to pretend, Alex chose to be honest with Maggie confessing that she was hurt because his feelings were not reciprocated. Alex agrees, sort of. If Kara cooperates, they get what they want. It was also great to have Kara finally learn that Lillian Luthor is the woman in charge of Cadmus and to hear Lillian’s motivation for her actions, as she views her son, Lex, as the world’s hero, someone who was taken down by corrupt, mud-smearing aliens, namely Superman. And to think: this episode started with her bringing him soup. But we already know what the tests are going to say … that he has White Martian blood, courtesy of Miss Martian.
Titled “The Darkest Place“, this episode is scheduled to air on The CW in the US on Monday, November 21 at 8.00pm ET/PT.
