Dad Runs Down Teens

A father is accused of trying to run over a group of teenagers and it’s all caught on video. Now the video has gone viral. Footage shows Williams’ Dodge Durango driving over the sidewalk and grass around the school and a group of teens screaming and running away.

“He was just going after everybody”, said Velez.

When he found out his daughter had been beaten, he allegedly threatened to hurt the teenagers responsible for the fight. “We heard there was a fight and the next thing we know, her [the 13-year-old’s] dad showed up”.

It was later that police said Williams got in his vehicle and drove onto the school grounds. The rest was caught on camera.

“He should have not taken matters into his own hand and we would have investigated that initial incident and tried to resolve it without there being any further violence”, says Assistant Deputy Chief Doug Pann.

“His daughter got into a little fight with this other girl and hit her”, Velez says. However, officers say he called about the fight his daughter had been involved in. Then cry to the police like they are the victims.

An Illinois man said he was just defending his 13-year-old daughter when he drove over a curb and chased down a group of students with his SUV outside an elementary school last week.

56-year-old Roy Williams has been charged with 12 counts each of aggravated assault with a vehicle and aggravated assault on public property, two counts of assault, reckless driving, and reckless conduct.

“People saw it so they started running”, Telfair says. Despite having diabetes, being disabled and walking on a cane after having had two knee replacement surgeries, he “works hard daily”.
