Dallas Cowboys Rumors and News: Jeremy Mincey Holding Out In Training Camp
Team owner Jerry Jones echoed Garrett’s sentiments; starting with avoiding using the words “Super Bowl” when talking about the expectations he has for his team.
“We won’t be negotiating with him while he’s not here”, COO Stephen Jones said at Wednesday camp-opening press conference. For the first time in five years, the Cowboys come to camp in Oxnard, California, as defending NFC East champions.
“I just think you have to start over every year, and I think you have to instill that in everybody”, Garrett said.
Mincey’s leverage in attempting to up his present deal (a two-year contract that pays him $1.5 mil this season) is, maybe, not showing up.
The Dallas Cowboys are one of the more interesting teams to keep an eye on for the 2015 season, for the simple fact they’ve made some noticeable changes to their roster to start this season. The Cowboys could deploy a variety of secondary combinations to deal with the variety of personnel they will face throughout the season.
Jones said Wednesday the Cowboys have “the utmost respect for him, but he is under contract”.
Another interesting thing to play attention to will be how defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli will deploy his defensive line in different situations. Romo was able to handle most of the off-season work, and Garrett said they’ll handle his availability on a day-by-day basis. Anxious Cowboys fans even lined up outside the Residence Inn Marriott Hotel to greet the team as they arrived.
“Let me really emphasize how much I endorse our commissioner”, Jones said, “and how strongly I feel about the job he is doing”.
