Damien Darhk To Appear on The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow
With filming now underway on the next CW superhero show, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, members of the cast came to New York Comic-Con over the weekend to promote the new DC show, which debuts midseason. Rip Hunter is a time traveler, and he’s arrived to help Atom and Hawkgirl stand a chance against the immortal despot Vandal Savage, who plans to manipulate time to rule the world.
Science fiction fans will probably remember Darvill for his time playing Rory Williams on Doctor Who for three seasons, so playing a time traveler again wasn’t that different for him except that he’s the one trying to be in charge of the motley crew that also includes Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold and Dominic Purcell’s Heatwave from “The Flash” and Falk Hentschel as Carter Hall, AKA Hawkman.
It’s uncertain whether Damien Darhk’s stint on the other CW series will sync up with his story line on Arrow considering that both The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow embrace time travel. In an exclusive interview with ComicBook.com, McDonough said teased his appearances in both “The Flash” and the upcoming spinoff.
“He explains that in the series, his character “[went back] in time” so he looks exactly the same as he was years back, “but you see he’s not as confident and doesn’t have such an agenda forty years ago as he does now”, McDonough differentiated.
“No, death means death; if you lose that, you get the kind of ‘get out of jail free card.’ You know, we do construct a rule on our show that if you kill me right now with a hatchet, the rest of the team can’t just go on for a show, then go back in time and stop you from hitting me with the hatchet”. CBM reports that Neal McDonough will play Darhk on both The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
No premiere date has yet been set for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, but it is expected to broadcast on The CW in early 2016.
