Dana White Responds to Conor McGregor Receiving Boxing License
UFC President Dana White claims McGregor willingly relinquished the belt, but that’s not how “Notorious” sees it.
Well, since the news of McGregor’s boxing license broke, White spoke with Yahoo Sports.
“Then, there was the whole 155lb thing I let him do”.
“I’ll say to the UFC.you’re fooling nobody”, he said.
To get an idea of how well McGregor will do in the sport of boxing, all you need to do is take a look at his sparring session with boxer Chris Van Heerden on Youtube.
Malignaggi’s career appears to be nearing the end after 15 years in the sport, but he’s likely more than good enough to beat a guy like McGregor easily. Jose Aldo was subsequently bumped up to undisputed champion status, and the new UFC 206 main event of Max Holloway vs. Anthony Pettis was declared an interim title fight. There’s a logjam there and a lot of guys were [angry].
Speaking with ESPN.com, Ellerbe said McGregor’s move is merely a “con job” and that the Mayweather fight will never happen because McGregor’s boss Dana White will not allow him to take the fight. “He doesn’t know all that has gone on, I guess”.
The Irishman already has expressed interest in luring the undefeated Floyd Mayweather out of retirement – and even demanded $100 million for it – with speculation over a superfight growing after McGregor obtained a boxing license in California Wednesday. “Conor’s Conor. He does his thing”.
“This was my way to fix the logjam”. But he’s under contract to me.
“I don’t know who the f*** that is but I’ll slap the nose off him if he ever mentions my name again”. “Do you think I just did this?”
Talks of a possible matchup-which remains to be a fantasy bout-between McGregor and Mayweather started heating up early this year, and has since intensified after both fighters lobbed quite a few verbal jabs at one another. “Really, think about that”. I’ve still got their belts. “The keyboard warriors trying to take them belts away from me, [but] you got to take them belts off me physically if you want to come get them”.
While Conor McGregor is no stranger to making controversial decisions, obtaining a boxing licence is arguably his most freakish yet. Northern Irish boxing superstar Carl Frampton – the reigning WBA featherweight champ – says he loves Conor and would be down to train with the guy if he’s serious about boxing.
