Dancing with the Stars 2015: Bindi Irwin’s Contract Not Approved!
While her mother Terri Irwin signed paperwork that would allow Bindi to keep all the money she earns on DWTS, there were complications involving her late father, Steve Irwin.
Yeah, everyone and their brother knows that Steve Irwin died back in 2006, but this judge needs a form signed by him?
Call it ridiculous but a judge has ruled that Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late Steve Irwin, can not collect her money from Dancing with the Stars until she proves that her father is deceased.
Lawyers for the show submitted a minor’s contract to an L.A. Superior Court judge…it’s required because Bindi is 17. Without the release, the judge is stating that “the court is unable to find that it is in the best interest of the minor to be bound by the terms of the contract”.
Should Bindi continue in the show, she will make another $30k for reaching week nine then $50k a week for weeks 10 and 11.
The teenager is said to be guaranteed a fee of $125k for appearing on the show, but her pay packet gets a boost depending on how far she makes it in the competition.
Not shabby. Beyond that, it’s unclear if there’s a bonus for winning the title or if making it to the final results show is as good as she can do.
“That night was special just because it was tough – I mean it wasn’t easy at all, but it meant so much to me and all of us because it was for Dad”. However, Bindi would also like to take home her money.
Before performing the tribute routine, which made headlines shortly after it ended, Bindi opened up in a prerecorded video about how the tragic death of her father has affected her life.
Bindi has lit up the show with a few emotional performances alongside professional partner Derek Hough, including a few she has dedicated to her dad.
