Dancing With The Stars Recap: Dance-Off Week
Get all that? Good.
We know, we cry a lot, but who didn’t start leaking a little bit before, during, and after Nick’s tribute to his pregnant wife Lauren? Even Carrie Ann Inaba got emotional.
Despite being Latin, he’s not comfortable doing the Salsa. Bindi and Derek danced a jive at the same time as Carlos and Witney – Carlos and Witney won the two points. Still, kudos to Carlos and Witney for giving an energetic and pretty-fun number accented only by a few minor technical issues here and there.
Song: “Grace Kelly” by MIKA. The real problem is actually her feet. In any case, Nick Carter won immunity, and with a ideal score to boot! Since we are in week eight, both Julianne and Bruno said it’s time to knit-pick.
Tamar Braxton and Val Chmerkovskiy: 28; 0. For icon week, Tamar chose her sister, singer and actress Toni Braxton.
Song: “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga. The tiny dancer feels a connection to David from the David and Goliath story. Alek Skarlatos, but it’s just a hunch. Carrie Ann thought he rose to the occasion, and Julianne wants to see more. The routine moved Grammer to tears, but ultimately fell short of technique with the judges, so the pair only earned 22 points.
Andy Grammer and Allison Holker danced to a sweet Viennese waltz set to “Isn’t She Lovely” dedicated to his mother.
This week the immunity dance-off challenge returns, as the couple with the highest judges’ score from their solo routine will earn immunity from elimination while picking up three additional judges points.
Of the six remaining contestants, Irwin and Carter have consistently performed well, but it is too early to count out Mr. and Mrs. PennVega.
Judge Bruno Tonioli said that their performance was a love poem perfectly visualised through dance and that the storytelling woven into the choreography was flawless.
Dancing With the Stars pro Allison Holker will be writing a blog and sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes photos every week for JustJared.com in anticipation of the Monday night shows! The crooner and Allison became the seventh couple eliminated from the competition based on the combination of the Dancing with the Stars judges’ scores and home viewer votes they had received during last week’s performance show.
