Daniel Bryan Says WWE Doctor Hasn’t Cleared Him
According to Bryan, the WWE worked out a deal with Charlie Sheen in 2012 where the actor would step into the ring with Daniel at SummerSlam. The reasons are many as to why pro wrestling fans like Bryan, his appeal is curious – not quite the prototypical WWE main event name, he nonetheless has an extremely strong bond with his fans.
After re-aggravating his shoulder injury back in May, Daniel Bryan’s WWE future has been weighing heavily on the mind of every member of the YES! Nation leader has been thrust into the media spotlight once again – which, as a result, has finally delivered us an update on his condition and his future in the WWE. And it’s just a matter of getting cleared by doctors. “Their whole clearance process is more hard than people would think”, Bryan revealed in a recent interview with Fox Sports. That’s the biggest issue.
So just when might the ultimate underdog finally return to the ring?
“The next day, I had my first [and, really, my only] experience of disrespect by another superstar, while headed San Jose to Phoenix for my first-ever WrestleMania with WWE”.
He hoped his return would come in time for SummerSlam, one of the marquee events on the WWE calendar, which is scheduled for August. 23. It’s kind of in the hands of certain doctors, as far as them clearing me and whatnot. That’s now looking like a long shot, and he mentioned possibly waiting until the build for the 2016 Royal Rumble to come back.
During another interview on the Boomer and Carton show on WFAN in New York on Thursday morning, Bryan said he still has three years left on his current WWE contract, so at least he’ll continue to be around for a good long while, regardless of his role with the company.
