Daniel Craig Turns Down 9-Figure Salary For Two More Bond Films
Seems like Sony will go to all lengths for keep Daniel Craig to keep playing the Bond role.
But according to a source reported by Radar, the most likely candidate to star as James Bond is Daniel Craig.
With that, it’s important to note that an expensive offer doesn’t always equate to a smart one.
Now Craig, who has already starred in four films in the Bond franchise Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre, has been offered huge remuneration to stay with the franchise.
“I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists”. Craig however, turned it down putting Sony into a desperate situation.
Well at least he’s being honest about doing it for the money, but if he can’t give an honest performance then we will just have another repeat of Spectre where he looks bored and disinterested in the project.
The man behind movie hits like Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, and Jaws, was twice rejected by late Bond boss Cubby Broccoli.
The 25 James Bond film now has no release date.
There was no magic money switch that was flipped the second Craig took over.
No matter if Sony ends up re-upping their distribution contract, it’s EON’s call in the end. The biggest financial uptick in those six films? It is entirely possible that EON Productions will fork over a king’s ransom to get Daniel Craig back for another two movies.
The hunt for the next Bond has been on for a long time, with makers hunting for a younger successor to fill in Craig’s shoes.
As far as the role of the spy agent is concerned, several frontrunners have surfaced in recent times with names such as Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, Adian Turner and even Tom Hughes making the rounds.
Should it be one of the above, another actor or someone entirely left-field?
It’s interesting to hear rumors concerning Sony’s reasoning for their $150 million offer to Craig.
If rumours are true, Sony Pictures may have backed up the proverbial dump truck of cash to Daniel Craig’s house.
