Danielle Milian’s newborn dies from omphalocele: ‘He touched my heart’

Christina Milian’s younger sister Danielle lost her newborn son on Wednesday just hours after welcoming him into the world.

She accompanied it with a black and white photo of what appeared to be her new borns tiny handprint. I so appreciate the prayers and support from everyone.

Doctors advised Milian and her husband, Richard Dickerson, to terminate the pregnancy – but they decided to give their baby boy a chance at life.

But the couple made the hard decision to see the pregnancy through, and on Tuesday (25Aug15), Milian announced the arrival of son Richie, and took to Instagram.com to share a photo of his tiny foot hooked up to an IV. I ask that you keep him and our entire family in your prayers- Especially Danielle, Richard, Naomi & Dj and know that we’ve all been touched by our little Guardian Angel. “I know I could be in a hospital every day”, she told Us.

“I was told there’s nearly a 53 percent chance of mortality”, she told US Weekly before the baby was born. Because I know can. I could not imagine taking his chance, ‘ she added.

“If his disability would not affect his ability to fall in love, then there is absolutely no reason he doesn’t deserve life”, Danielle quoted her husband as saying.

Milian certainly did everything she possibly could, and there are no explanations in the world that can make sense of a tragedy like this one. Sadly, within hours of arriving, he died. Danielle also has an eight-year-old boy, Daniel, from a previous relationship.

The show was renewed in April for a second season that will premiere later this year.

After Richie’s passing, Christina Milian praised her sister and brother-in-law for showing “the true measure of courage and faith for the last 9 months”. The 29-year-old mom was supposed to be due in September, but with the baby’s condition, she gave birth earlier than the schedule.
