Danny Amendola Has Knee Sprain, Won’t Miss Extended Time
New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola suffered a knee sprain during Monday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills and may be able to play this weekend. Curran also has some news on Aaron Dobson’s health. If he doesn’t make the requisite progress, the potential exists for Amendola to miss a game, but he isn’t expected to log extended time on the sideline. Danny Amendola has a sprained left knee but could play Sunday, and Keshawn Martin has missed five consecutive games with a hamstring injury. WBZ-TV kicks off their coverage at 11:30am on Sunday with Patriots GameDay, and following the game catch Bill Belichick and Tom Brady’s postgame press conferences on Patriots 5th Quarter! As Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reported, X-rays of Dobson’s foot showed no broken bones, but the extent of any ligament damage will dictate how long he’ll be down. But New England can’t afford to lose Amendola for its trip to Denver.
Given that the Broncos’ defense is the top-ranked unit in the league, Amendola will be needed. Amendola’s status will be updated when the Patriots return to practice on Wednesday.
