Danny Amendola out against Denver Broncos
New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola will miss Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos with a knee injury.
Amendola injured his knee against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night football.
New England has had five wide receivers on its injury report this week, which means that quarterback Tom Brady will have to get creative. Amendola has racked up 19 catches for 196 yards since Week 10, and figures to be a primary weapon in an offense that averages the third most yards and second most points per game.
Squaring off against a deep and talented Denver Broncos, the short-handed Patriots certainly could use Amendola, but late Friday night Steve Burton, the sports director of WBZ-TV in Boston, reported that Amendola hadn’t traveled with the team to Denver. With Julian Edelman (foot) out and Aaron Dobson, Brian Tyms, Josh Boyce and Brandon Gibson all on IR, the Pats are now left with only three healthy receivers heading into Sunday: Brandon LaFell, Chris Harper and KeShawn Martin. Gronkowski leads the team in receiving yards and touchdowns this season, and he will need to have an impact performance Sunday with Amendola out.
