Danny Amendola: Will not play vs. Denver
The third-year linebacker landed on the Patriots injury report with an illness on November 7, one day before the team’s Week 9 game with Washington.
Comcast Sportsnet New England host Mike Giardi reports that New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola will not be traveling to Denver to face the Broncos.
WBZ-TV in Boston first reported that Amendola would not travel with the team. Amendola suffered the knee injury against the Bills on Monday, and he was limited in practice Thursday and Friday after not participating on Wednesday.
Amendola, who injured his knee in Monday’s win over Buffalo, has stepped up the past couple of weeks in the absence of Julian Edelman, who broke his foot in the November 15 game against the Giants and will miss another four to six weeks. Keshawn Martin, questionable with a hamstring injury, should also contribute. It’s unclear as to whether or not he’ll be fit enough to play on Sunday night against the Broncos.
That leaves veteran Brandon LaFell and undrafted free agent Chris Harper as New England’s lone healthy receivers.
